Following in Oprah’s footsteps I’ve just started a GRATEFULNESS JOURNAL and every day I’m going to find at least five things I am grateful for. Easy really, because I wake every day grateful for all the opportunities that are just waiting to be seized. To be specific, today I’m grateful for:
1. The rain that is falling right now... may the grass be greener in a few days.
2. The eleven, yes ELEVEN pink roses blooming on my father’s memorial rose bush I planted when he died back in 2005.
3. The phone call I received not long ago from my dear friend Terri Janke who is in Tahiti celebrating the French-language release of her brilliant novel Butterfly Song – check it out at: http://www.terrijanke.com.au/ButterflySong/index.htm.
4. The opportunity to spend some time today researching a Nyoongah/ Noongar literary trail as part of my job with Black Words: Aboriginal Writers and Storytellers research community: http://www.austlit.edu.au/specialistDatasets/BlackWords
5. Watching television that makes me laugh. The scripts for Two and a Half Men are so clever.
