Welcome Rekaya Gibson...

Hi Rekaya -

And welcome to Sydney, Australia - albeit it via cyberspace. And a special welcome to Gadigal country (Gadigal is the Aboriginal clan group who are traditional owners of the land around the city of Sydney).

I'm looking forward to hearing more about THE FOOD TEMPTRESS today and your writing process. But the burning questions for me right now are...

How much of the character 'Ambrosia' is you?


How did you 'research' the stories? Did you actually try out each dish on a man?

Hi Anita,
Ambrosia and I are nothing alike, okay 10%. I like to cook too.
I did not do any research for the stories nor did I try out the recipes on any man. See, I am pretty boring compared to Ambrosia.

Not boring!
I'm wondering who your book is targeted at? Only single women? or women who like to cook? Did you have a specific audience in mind when you wrote TFT?

I target single women 18-45 with my novels but I have a lot of married women and even men read them? Is this the same for you?

Hmm I hate to cook find it totally boring and the only reason I do it is my husband who likes to cook is lousy at it, however I do love to eat food and love the rich variety we get here from different cultural influences, I just wish my metabolism loved food as much as I do.

Is your character Ambrosia a one of or will you make her do a series of stories kind of like Sue Grafton's take on letters of the Alphabet.

The Food Temptress is targeted at adults 25-65, cooks, food enthusiasts, and single women (divorced & never married). If you follow along as the character prepares the meals, you can make the recipe yourself. It's like having two books in one: fiction and a cookbook. This made me decide to write a cookbook. It comes out in November.

I appreciate you stopping by to leave a comment. I like to cook, but I don't think I could do it as a career - folks always ask.
I am not familiar with Sue Grafton's work. However, I have written the sequel, The Food Enchantress. It comes out mid-April. I will end the series with an actual cookbook in November.

All this talk of food is making me hungry,lol.

Good luck with your books! I admire anyone that can write I would love to have the skill but rather lack imagination and am not that creative.
